Another year has come and gone...

Friday was my 43rd birthday.  FORTY-THREE.  How the heck did THAT happen?

My Mum and the boys took me out for a nice dinner at Montana's where I was humiliated by the Montana's staff, who had me wear moose antlers while they sang the longest birthday song EVER as loud as they possibly could...look:

We had a lot of fun though and afterwards, went back to Mum's house for cake.

Saturday morning was an early one.  Threepeat, Middleman and I had to leave the house at 5:45 am to get to an 8:00 am game in Keswick.  We were up before the sun!  After a really, REALLY good game, we were tied at 0-0.  We went into penalty kicks, and after six shots per team, we lost on the seventh shot.  Devastated doesn't describe how we all felt.  What a hard way to lose.  :(

We headed home and Hubster and the boys tore out all of our ratty grass in the front yard.  It was so full of weeds and dry patches that we fugured the best thing to do it pull it all out and then replace it with new sod.  It's all levelled off now and just needs the new sod, which I hope Hubster will get on soon!

On Saturday afternoon, Threepeat decided, out of the blue, that he wanted Hubster to take his training wheels off his bike.  He has only ridden his bike a few times this summer, with the training wheels on, so I have no idea what prompted him to suddenly want the training wheels off!  I told Hubster to keep them handy, because chances are, they would be back on in ten minutes when Threepeat got tired of falling off.

to my absolute amazement, that child got on his bike and took off.  I held his seat TWICE...I swear...TWICE.  The third time, he told me to let him go...and go he WENT!  He was amazing!  He fell twice, but got right back on like a champ!

By Sunday afternoon, he was a pro.  He told me that Hubster took him around the school TWELVE times!

He is so determined and we are soooo proud of him!

Saturday night, we hung out around the house after a long day out in the sun.

Sunday morning, I made bacon and eggs and then did a little laundry.  We headed over to Kath and Bru's house after our bouncer pick up and had a great BBQ.  We had been trying for literally months to find a time to get together and yesterday was FINALLY that day.  As always, we ate lots and had lots of laughs.

We got home around 8:30 and then one of my neighbs invited me over for a belated birthday glass of wine.  We chatted in her backyard in front of the fire and caught up.  It was such a nice way to end the weekend.

So, another year is gone and I am 43.  Sigh...getting old. Pin It
