18 years

18 years ago today, I married my best friend.  I know...cheesy.  But he WAS my best friend.

Today, he's still my best friend.

Things are SO different than they were when we met almost 24 years ago.  So many people are gone forever; so many people have been born; so many people have come into our lives, many of them still here; so many people have left our lives.

We have lived in three of our own homes.  We have had three children.  We have had several different jobs.  We have loved; we have laughed; we have cried; we have suffered; we have celebrated; we have been blessed; we have been cursed; we have had AMAZING times; we have had HORRENDOUS times.

No matter how good or how bad things have been, the most important thing is that we got through them all together, sometimes, by the hair of our chinny, chin-chins.  And we are still together.  We are the minority these days.  Marriage is tough.  REALLY tough.  It means putting yourself second sometimes ALOT.  It means compromise.  It means that you stick it out through good times and bad, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health.  That is extremely difficult sometimes.

I am proud to say that I have been married for 18 years.  And I am proud to call Hubster my husband.  I hope that I will be here in 2030 saying that we are celebrating 36 years of marriage.  And again in 2048, celebrating 54 years of marriage!!!

Happy Anniversary Babe.  I love you with all my heart. Pin It
