A Mother's Joy

This morning, I had the pleasure of attending a Mother's Day celebration at Threepeat's preschool.

We sat at the table together, while he ate a chocolate muffin and two pieces of toast. I'm not feeling so hot, so he ate and I watched. We chatted and had a nice hour together. On the wall was this photo:

With a little interview the teachers had done with him. Apparently, I am 13 years old and 5 feet tall (close, I am 41 years old and 5'4" tall). My favourite food is pasta (actually, that's HIS favourite food...mine is roast beef) and my favourite sport is hockey (AMEN TO THAT!! 1 out of 4 ain't bad) and when asked why he loves me, he said, "Because she loves me back" !!!! Sooo sweet.

Just before I left, he gave me a present he had made for was a small cardboard box, decorated with paint and foam stickers (he told me it was a jewellery box) and inside was a key chain made of beads. It was lovely. I hugged him really tightly and told him how much I loved him and he was SO proud of himself. We chatted a little more and then he went off to the carpet to play with his friends, asking me to stay a while longer. A few of the Moms told me how cute he was and how mature he acted. He is such a great kid.

I chatted with one of the other Moms and then about 15 minutes later, called him over to say good-bye. We hugged and kissed and I thanked him for a lovely time. Then he was off to play again.

I can't tell you how much I love these moments. They are so fleeting and go so quickly, but I cherish every single one.

These days are already gone for Boy Oneder and Middleman. Boy Oneder is taller than me, although this photo was taken at his grade 8 graduation and he wasn't taller then me last year:

He is becoming a man before my eyes and is no longer a boy. He makes me proud every day with his maturity, courteous manner and hard-working attitude.

Middleman is growing up so quickly too. He is super-intelligent and so compassionate. He is the most affectionate one of all and I just love him to pieces:

I am so abundantly blessed with my three boys. I can't imagine life without any of them. They are truly, as my banner up at the top says, "My heart, my soul, my pride, my joy, my boys, my EVERYTHING!" Pin It
