The $6,000.00 smile

Boy Oneder had his braces removed on Wednesday!

Here he is, sporting his $6,000.00 smile. It's a dorky smile, but I guess he needs to get used to his metal-free mouth:

And banging the Braces-Off Gong:

Soccer and Kindergarten...

Where did my baby go?

Threepeat started soccer last night.

Imagine 14 four year olds running amok on the soccer field, with Hubster trying to keep some control over them. There were kids running with the ball in their arms, kids trying to score on other fields, kids having tantrums in the middle of the field because the other team (or one of their own players) took the ball away, mothers running up and down the field holding their child's hand. It was BEDLAM. And FUNNY? OMG...hilarious!

After about five minutes, Hubster realized that resistance was futile and just let them run like wild animals. The parents were in hysterics and a good time was had by all (well most)!

This morning, I took Threepeat for his JK orientation. He sat with a teacher for an assessment while I spoke with another teacher about him. After 10 minutes, the teacher tells me he needs speech therapy. WHAT?! Threepeat speaks like an adult!!! He has NO issues with ANY sounds. So, I asked her what led her to this assumption. She responded that he was quiet and only answered a few of her questions. I held back my anger and told her that he had JUST met her and was probably nervous or shy. She pushed again for me to complete the speech therapy request form and I politely told her thanks, but no thanks.

You see, I was told the same thing about Middleman when he was at his JK Orientation. He did have some issues with certain sounds and after taking him for a hearing test, the audiologist AND our family doctor told us there was nothing wrong with him. Today, Middleman speaks perfectly.

There HAS to be some kind of kick back for the teachers if they get kids into therapy. Why on EARTH would she say that Threepeat has speech issues? Gimme a BREAK!!!

Anyway, he is looking forward to "Big Boy School" in September. He even got to see Middleman in the hallway!

Where did my littlest one go? My boys are all growed up! (sniffle) Pin It

Today is my Friday!

AND it's my Friday of a long weekend!

Yes, I realize that it's only Thursday, but I am taking tomorrow as a vacation day and extending the already long weekend...the first long weekend of the spring/summer 2011! I don't plan to spend it relaxing either. Check this out...

I plan to get Boy Oneder and Middleman off to school, Hubster off to work and Threepeat off to preschool and then my day will's the plan:

  • Grab my beloved coffee from Tim Horton's

  • Enjoy said beloved coffee while checking my beloved Facebook

  • Run over to the nursery to pick up my flowers and veggies

  • Clean our ensuite (it is in DESPERATE need of a full overhaul cleaning)

  • Change the sheets on all of our beds

  • Dust and vacuum the bedrooms and my office (it is a disaster)

  • laundry, laundry and more laundry

  • Clean out Threepeat and Middleman's drawers to move out winter stuff and make room for summer stuff

If I still have leftover time, (which I doubt) I will enjoy a glass of wine on the backyard deck (if the weather permits).

Saturday is supposed to be a gorgeous will be planting day...after Middleman's soccer practice and Threepeat's swimming lesson.

Sunday will be family day. Not sure where we will go or what we will do, but whatever it is, it will be together.

Monday will be a repeat of Sunday with a little of Friday thrown in for good measure.

Have a GREAT long weekend friends!

Threepeat has a girlfriend.

Scratch that.

Threepeat HAD a girlfriend. Well, a girlfriend in the eyes of a four year old. Her name is Claudia pronounced clow-dee-uh), she is in his preschool class and she is absolutely adorable.

Except it's over now. It lasted a whole two days, one of those days, they didn't see each other.

Apparently, sweet Claudia, who was the apple of Threepeat's eye on Monday, tipped his cap today and he didn't like it. So, according to Threepeat, and I quote, "I broke up with Claudia today."

So, Threepeat is single and playing the field again!

LOL. Young love. Pin It

Hi Ho, Hi Ho...

It's off to work HE goes!

Hubster left at 7:30 this morning for his new job! This week will be full of learning for him. He is at our Mississauga office today, tomorrow and Wednesday, doing the new hire school that our company puts on for new employees. Thursday and Friday, he will be at his new home, our Markham office. He will be an Account Executive for the lower-large segment of our business.

He looked dashing this morning as he walked out in his suit and tie. My handsome man really, REALLY needed this change. The lay off was truly a blessing in disguise. He was very unhappy at his old job and was ready for a change, and although it was scary initially, I knew he would be employed again quickly. He's smart, with a good work ethic...and he's hot! ;o)

So, my house-husband is no longer and I guess the chores like laundry and stuff are back to being my responsibility. was good while it lasted! HAHA! Now, we are co-workers as well as a married couple! Pin It

A Mother's Joy

This morning, I had the pleasure of attending a Mother's Day celebration at Threepeat's preschool.

We sat at the table together, while he ate a chocolate muffin and two pieces of toast. I'm not feeling so hot, so he ate and I watched. We chatted and had a nice hour together. On the wall was this photo:

With a little interview the teachers had done with him. Apparently, I am 13 years old and 5 feet tall (close, I am 41 years old and 5'4" tall). My favourite food is pasta (actually, that's HIS favourite food...mine is roast beef) and my favourite sport is hockey (AMEN TO THAT!! 1 out of 4 ain't bad) and when asked why he loves me, he said, "Because she loves me back" !!!! Sooo sweet.

Just before I left, he gave me a present he had made for was a small cardboard box, decorated with paint and foam stickers (he told me it was a jewellery box) and inside was a key chain made of beads. It was lovely. I hugged him really tightly and told him how much I loved him and he was SO proud of himself. We chatted a little more and then he went off to the carpet to play with his friends, asking me to stay a while longer. A few of the Moms told me how cute he was and how mature he acted. He is such a great kid.

I chatted with one of the other Moms and then about 15 minutes later, called him over to say good-bye. We hugged and kissed and I thanked him for a lovely time. Then he was off to play again.

I can't tell you how much I love these moments. They are so fleeting and go so quickly, but I cherish every single one.

These days are already gone for Boy Oneder and Middleman. Boy Oneder is taller than me, although this photo was taken at his grade 8 graduation and he wasn't taller then me last year:

He is becoming a man before my eyes and is no longer a boy. He makes me proud every day with his maturity, courteous manner and hard-working attitude.

Middleman is growing up so quickly too. He is super-intelligent and so compassionate. He is the most affectionate one of all and I just love him to pieces:

I am so abundantly blessed with my three boys. I can't imagine life without any of them. They are truly, as my banner up at the top says, "My heart, my soul, my pride, my joy, my boys, my EVERYTHING!" Pin It

He's employed!!

My Hubster is officially employed.

I knew immediately after his first interview that he was a shoe-in...why? Because my Hubster is smart, charming and TOTALLY employable.

It's been a scary six weeks, but on Monday, Hubster will join my company as an Account Executive. He will be doing almost exactly what he was doing with his previous company, only this time, he will be compensated and recognized for his hard work!

He will be working out of our Markham office and I will still be working from home, so it's not like we will be "working together". We will just be working together. :o)

I am so, so proud of him.

Go get 'em Babe!!! Pin It

Rain, rain, GO AWAY ALREADY!

Spring has not sprung yet here in Ontario. We have had a few nice days through April, but not many. It is cold, rainy and depressing.

I am praying that now that we are in May, the sun will finally kick the clouds' butts and stick around allllllll the way to November!!!!!!!!!!
