Happy Birthday Threepeat!

My little...well, NOT so little Threepeat turned 4 years old today.

How did this:

Turn to this:

in like FIVE minutes?

He is so intelligent, very energetic, handsome as can be and SUCH a blessing. He loves preschool, the Hulk, Ironman, Spiderman, his brothers and his new bike...not necessarily in that order! LOL

Threepeat also made a GIANT step in growing up today. He put all of his choochies into an envelope and put them in the mailbox for the poor babies. We have been leading up to this day for a long time and made sure we kept the idea in his head. He told us a few months ago that he would get rid of his choochies when he turned four. So, true to his word, this morning, he helped me pack the 5 choochies into the envelope and he walked proudly to the mailbox with Hubster to send them off. I have video on my Blackberry that I will post once I find the cord to download from my Blackberry to my PC. I also have video of him running back to me, proud as punch that he mailed them off.

On the way home from preschool today, he asked me where the choochies had gone. I explained the way of the mail system and told him that by now, there were 5 little babies whose Mommy and Daddy couldn't afford a choochie, who weren't crying anymore because Threepeat was such a kind boy to give them up. He processed what I said for a minute and then said, "Mommy, please don't talk about choochies anymore." Poor baby. I know he will miss his beloved choochie, and tonight may be tough, but Hubster and I have agreed that we won't be playing hardball. If he wants his choochie and gets upset, we have some spares hidden away. He only has it to sleep and I can guarantee he won't have it when he's in university! Here's hoping he is strong and that this is the end of the final baby habit.

On that note, I should mention that he has been sleeping in his own bed in Middleman's room for the past week or so. At some point in the night, he joins us, but he starts out in his own bed and that is fantastic! We have always been a proud family bed family and I will miss his middle-of-the-night cuddles, but, just like everything else, we have let him lead the way and he seems happy to be in his big boy bed...at least for part of the night.

Part of me is so sad to be leaving babyhood behind, but I am so stinking proud of this boy who really can't wait to grow up!

We had Threepeat's birthday party at a local indoor playground on Saturday and he had a BLAST with all of his friends. We are so blessed with such dear friends who really are more like family to us. Thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to spend it with our little man!

Bless his little heart. I can't imagine life without that little boy!

Happy Birthday Sweetheart. I love you more than life itself! Pin It
