Come Dine With Me Canada!

Tuesday was a very exciting day here! I had Brady, from Come Dine With Me Canada, come to the house for my on-camera interview for the show!

Come Dine With Me Canada is a show where 5 get together for a week's worth of dinner parties. Each contestant makes a starter, a main and a dessert and at the end of each night, they rate each other on a scale of 1 to 10 on entertaining/hosting skills, presentation and food. It's a fun show because they tend to put very different people together for each group and the conflicts and personality clashes are hilarious!

A couple of months ago, I emailed Proper Television about my interest in the show and they sent me a questionnaire to complete. A few weeks later, they called for a ten minute telephone interview and then Tuesday was my on-camera interview.

It lasted 2.5 hours and was lots of fun! Brady was great and made me feel like we'd been friends for years, so sitting in front of the camera was very easy. She interviewed me for an hour or so and then I cooked a meal for her, while she filmed me and asked me questions about it. I made my Nanny's "Fish and Parsley Sauce" and it turned out GREAT! Thank goodness! I had to plate the dish and then eat it...Brady didn't try it, she just filmed me filling my face! I never realized how hard it is to talk to someone and cook at the same time! I am a multi-tasker extraordinaire, but trying to concentrate on not forgetting any ingredients, not burning the food and listening to and answering questions semi-intelligently is much harder than one would think!

So, it went really well and I think Brady liked me, so now I wait and see if I will be accepted on the show. She said it would be a couple of weeks before I heard anything.

I'm very excited! I have to give a special thank you to Grant and Chantelle, who were my guinea pigs last week...they gave me great feedback and I love them dearly! Pin It
