Old friends

Last night, I drove 45 minutes up to Barrie to meet up with two old friends.

Sheri has been my friend since we were six years old, doing gymnastics together...gosh that's forever ago!!! We grew up and went through school together, spending most of our time together in grades 10 and 11. I had a boyrfiend at the time who had a single friend...I introduced them and they hit it off. They stayed together for about two years.

After high school, I went to work and Sheri went up north to forestry college. We lost contact for a while. Somehow, we reconnected and I was able to go to her wedding in 1993. She came to my wedding in 1994. We got together the odd time after that and then lost contact again after our kids were born...Jordanna in 1994 and Boy Oneder in 1996.

Thankfully, Sheri joined Facebook and so did I. We reconnected about 18 months ago and were thrilled to catch up over the net. She dropped off the face of the earth for a while and just a couple of weeks ago, came back to Facebook. We took the opportunity and met up last night. She hasn't changed a BIT. Looks EXACTLY the same and has the same voice and laugh!!

Mike was an ex-boyfriend of mine who was a friend of Sheri's boyfriend (as mentioned above). He is also living in Barrie and got in touch with me over Facebook. Since he and Sheri live only a short distance apart, he joined us for the laughs and the walk down memory lane. You'd never know that we hadn't seen each other in over twenty years!

It was so great to reconnect with friends. It was so comfortable and relaxed. I loved hearing about their lives, both the ups and the downs! I hope it won't be another twenty years before we hook up again!! Pin It
