Do do do do do do do do....

You are now entering the "Twilight Zone"...

Picture a time, a place....ok whatever...

Last night at 2:00, Hubster woke me up and asked me if I had just taken a shower. Duh. It's 2:00 am...no I did NOT just take a shower. He says he smells soap and that it smelled like someone had just taken a shower in our ensuite. I tell him he is crazy and that he must be dreaming and roll over.

Hubster insists on investigating. He goes into our washroom and says, "Dawn...someone just took a shower...come and see!"

I stumbled out of bed and he showed me that the floor was wet and the shower had fresh drips on the door. The bathroom was a bit steamy too. WTF?

We go into the hallway and the linen closet door is open. Hubster says, "Do you think Boy Oneder took a shower?!" I said, "Of course not...it's the middle of the night!"

He went down the hall to Boy Oneder's room and found him sound asleep, with soaking wet hair. Hubster woke him up and asked him if he had just taken a shower. Boy Oneder replied sleepily that he thought it was later and yes, had taken a shower. Hubster said he was half asleep when he answered.

Now, Boy Oneder has been a sleep walker for quite some time. We put a bolt on the front door, way up high, just so that if he happened to decide to go for a walk in the middle of the night, he couldn't reach the bolt.

This morning, I asked Boy Oneder about the shower. He says the first thing he remembers is stepping into the shower. He said he had a shower, thinking it was morning, but can only remember bits and pieces of the actual shower. The next thing he remembers, he was back in bed, looking at his clock, thinking it was weird that it was only 1:52 am. He thought it was morning already. He remembers nothing else. He doesn't remember Hubster waking him up.

Although it's kinda funny, I must admit that it worries me that he can get up and do something like have a shower, but not remember it fully. It scares me that he could do something bad and not remember doing it!

Anyone else have a sleepwalker in their house?

How freakin' weird is that! WOW
That's a deep sleep for all three of you though.
Conner is a sleepwalker. He's never taken a shower but he wanders around the house, gets snacks or comes in and has conversations that he can't recall come morning.
We put a motion sensor on the front door, so that if it gets opened a piercing alarm goes off...would wake the dead it's so loud.
Not to put doubt in your mind but better safe than sorry, we were going to go the bolt route, but figured that it would be too easy to pull a chair to the door to enable access to the bolt.
Conner has pretty much grown out of it now...and I did find that his sleep walking episodes usually occurred when he was overtired or overheated in his bed. Frankie most definitely fits in to the overtired reasoning given his hockey camp.
Good luck, I'm sure he'll be fine and won't do anything bad!!! But I can totally understand where you're coming from! xo

My backpacking buddy Patti was a sleepwalker, especially when in new surroundings (like the first night sleeping on the trail) One time she got up in the middle of the night and hung all her clothes on the laundry line outside, then in the morning they were all dew-soaked and she had to hike in her pyjamas. Another time, at home, she took all her shoes out of the closet and heaped them up in front of the front door. She doesn't remember any of it. When we go camping I always make sure we don't get a campsight with a dropoff.
