Report Card Day!

As usual, I am thrilled to announce that Boy Oneder and Middleman are da BOMB!

Boy Oneder brought home 8 A`s and the rest were B`s. Middleman came home with 7 A`s and the rest B`s. Again, as usual, the teachers` comments were exemplary and the boys are ROCKIN` the report cards!

I am SO proud of my boys. I just pray that these grades continue through University!!

Way to go guys! Love you TONS! Pin It

My little fish

Threepeat had his first swimming lesson tonight and it went...well...SWIMMINGLY!!

Hubster went in the water with him tonight and he loved every moment...splashing, blowing bubbles and jumping into Daddy's arms...it was great!

Grandma, Nanna, Boy Oneder, Middleman and I all watched from the viewing room and had a laugh...such fun!

Of course, bring our third child, i didn`t even cross my mind to take a camera...BAD MOMMY. I will have some to share next week.

Speaking of photos, I treated myself to Photoshop today at Costco. I`m off to figure out how to use it! Pin It

HAHAHAHA!

I just won a coffee.

LMAO!!

Gotta love productiveness!!

WOW I had a productive day!! Hubster took all three kids out late this morning so that I could clean the bathrooms, dust and do some laundry. PTL! I got SO much accomplished! YAY ME!

I still have a ton of laundry to get through, but walking by the boys' rooms and walking into mine is no longer a source of major stress! I can see the floor in all three bedrooms and it feeeeelsssss gooooooooood!

This afternoon, we all went to Walmart and I got to see Threepeat's devilishness in action. He purposely runs away and then hides behind racks of clothing or aisles of merchandise. He actually grabbed a shopping basket, dragged it behind him, waving all the time and yelling, "Bye!!! Me shopping now! BYeeeeeee!" Little brat. He found his way over to the greeter, a little old man who was the cutest thing ever. Threepeat handed over his basket to the greeter and the greeter gave him six smiley stickers. Thanks Mr. Greeter Guy. Way to encourage bad behaviour. After he got his stickers, of course, Threepeat had to run back to Boy Oneder, Middleman and Hubster to show them off. As we left, he kept asking, "Where Mr. Man go?" When we got to the door, he noticed the greeter and ran over to give him the BIGGEST hug ever. Mr. Man was very pleased. He told me, "That's one great kid you have there!"

Another great day. Life is good. Pin It

Tim Hortons Roll Up the Rim

Today is the last day that you will see my Tim Hortons Roll Up the Rim stats.

I am done.

If I didn't love the coffee so much, I would boycott them forever. The chances of winning are supposedly 1 in 9...my arse! No one I know has won ANYTHING...except my ONE free coffee.

Timmy...I am deeply offended and angry with you. Grrrrr....

Family day

Today was all about the fam.

Last night, Alexander, Middleman's friend from down the street, slept over. They were very good and very quiet. I think they had alot of fun together. This morning, Threepeat, Alexander and Middleman each enjoyed a big bowl of Nesquik cereal...yeah, yeah...I'm a bad mother. Threepeat sucked back every bite and then sucked the chocolate milk out of the bowl with a straw. Bless his heart.

Once Boy Oneder woke up, as per usual, all hell broke loose. Boy Oneder and Middleman fought over everything...EV.ER.Y.THING. At 10:30, I had had enough and sent all four boys to the park while I did a load of laundry and had a shower.

At around 11:30, I fed them all chicken noodle soup, cucumber and tomato salad and olives (I was making up for the Nesquik thing) and they wolfed it down like they hadn't eaten in weeks.

Anthony came to pick up Alexander at around noon and then I sent Boy Oneder and Middleman to their rooms for an hour to cool off (and so that I could get some peace). I took Threepeat for a drive and grabbed a Timmy's coffee...notice the ridiculousness of my signature...Roll Up the Rim is a SCAM. Anyhoo...I digress...Threepeat fell asleep and I continued to drive for a while because it was a beautiful, sunny day.

When I got home, he woke up almost instantly after about a 45 minute nap...crap. Hubster had a shower and Boy Oneder and Middleman headed over to the grocery store on their bikes to grab some treats. They played football with a bunch of friends for about half an hour and then we headed over to Grandma's house at about 3:30. We played with Lucy (gosh she is cute) and had a great roast pork dinner (thanks Mom!) We took Rosie with us to Grandma's, so we all went for a nice walk around "Lollipop Land" after our big meal. Lucy has SO much energy! Poor Mom.

At about 7:15, Threepeat was beginning to melt down a bit (and so was I), so we packed up and headed home. Threepeat was asleep in the car by 7:30.

We transferred Threepeat into bed and then I ran out to the store to get some chips. When I got back, we lit a TON of candles and played "Sorry" by candlelight to celebrate Earth Hour. I, of course, KILLED Hubster and Middleman. (Boy Oneder was working on his Kumon that he refused to do earlier, so he didn't play, but he did sit at our candlelit table to do it.

At 9:00, Boy Oneder and I grabbed our laptops (battery powered of course) and headed up to his room, where we both are now, lying in bed, surfing the net in the dark.

I love the moments that we spend as a family...I just wish I could stop the incessant fighting, bickering and negativity that Boy Oneder and Middleman constantly do...it's driving me NUTS!

Did you do your part for Earth Hour?

I HAVE to weigh in.

So, I JUST posted a blog post and then I read this and just HAD to give my 2 cents...ok...my 2 DOLLARS.

What.a.freak. Those poor, poor children.

I know how difficult it is to have ONE child, TWO children, THREE children. The thought of FOUR-EFFING-TEEN children is ridiculous. Octomom is a mental case who needs help...FAST.

I cannot fathom how those poor children, let alone the new babies, are getting the attention, food, love and care they all need. The disfunctional relationship with her parents doesn't help matters. O.M.Gosh (that's for YOU anonymous) I am sickened by it all.

And we need licences to own dogs.

What a messed up world we live in.

The good, the bad and the ugly....

Such a cliche....

Anyhooo...

The good: Middleman made it to the "Battle of the Books" team. Six kids, chosen from the school to represent in the reading challenge. Middleman has to read an dmemorize 11 books for the school to school challenge. I am SO proud of him. GO MIDDLEMAN!

I got an award at work today...the first to get a perfect score on our new client survey...YAY ME!

Boy Oneder rode his bike all the way to the grocery store alone tonight to buy milk. I am so proud of him it hurts...pre-teen hormones and all.

Threepeat is brilliant. He speaks in full sentences, eats Chinese food like a champ and is the cutest almost two year old I've ever known.

Alexander, the neighbour boy, is sleeping over tonight. What a great kid.

The bad: I am so far behind with laundry that it's embarrassing. The piles are ridiculously high. UGH.

I got my period today and feel like crapola.

I am VERY mad at Tim Hortons. Damn them. Chances or winning are apparently 1 in 9. I have bought 34 coffees and have one win...a stinking coffee. I am not even counting the daily coffee that I buy for Hubster every morning with mine. He has won one stinkin' donut. Bunch of crap. If I wasn't so in love with the actual coffee, I would boycot them for the principle. But alas, I am a Timmy's addict. Damn.

The ugly:

Last night, I was carrying a bowl of piping hot rice to the table, when Threepeat decided to back his ride on truck right into my path. I jumped over him, misjudged and fell square on my butt, spilling amazingly hot rice over my hand and arm. Threepeat escaped unscathed, but my hand and arm are blistered and my butt is bruised and terribly sore. Crap. A mother takes the pain for her kid every time.

So, my friends, there you have it...the good, the bad and the ugly.

Special Day

Tonight, Hubster, the kids and I are going to Kathy and Bruno's house for dinner...Katrina, their oldest, turned 13 on March 6th and we missed her party because we were in Florida.

Most people treat the 16th birthday as the big birthday, but to me, becoming a teenager is a bigger deal. What's so big about turning 16 anyway? I mean, turning 13 is a BIG deal! So, we bought her an extra special, extra expensive gift this year. I am sure she will love it. I just can't wait to give it to her. I will take photos tonight and share them here.

Tim Horton's Roll Up the Rim

I am a Timmy's addict. I drink a large one cream, two sugars every single day of my existence...except on vacation where the rest of the world is not enlightened to the bliss that is Timmy's...sometimes, I even drink two coffees...but I digress.

During "Roll Up the Rim" time at Timmy's, I usually get lucky enough to win a coffee, but most times, it's a donut or a freaking cookie...who eats their cookies anyway? But this year? I have won ONE STINKING COFFEE. That is ridiculous. I don't want the car or the tv's or whatever else they are pawning off. I just want FREE COFFEE! Clearl, that is too much to ask from Timmy's. Damn.

I am getting really annoyed at my "Please play again" cups. I even swear when I open them these days. I roll my eyes and shout a curse word. Thank goodness I usually drink my coffee in my home office...peeps would think I am mental...shut up...I am NOT mental...not really anyway.

In non-Timmy's related news, Boy Oneder and Middleman are finished with March break hockey camp. They loved every hardworking minute of it. They raved about it every evening and are sad that it's over...even though they are both in bed, out cold already. Hubster and I signed them up for two weeks of the same camp in the summer...they are pumped. YAY GRANDMA for giving them such a fantastic March break!

It occured to me that I haven't updated about Threepeat lately. This kid is a genius. Clearly, he took from MY side of the family....snort. He is talking in sentences and is brilliant all around. He can build massive towers out of blocks, jam containers, cream containers, even CROUTONS! He loves "Max and Ruby", "Little Bear" and "Barney" and can explain the storyline for the shows. He goes on the big kid slides and refuses to insult himself by swinging on the baby swings...he MUST go on the big boy swings. His imagination is unbelievable and he is just...well...genius!

We have a busy weekend ahead. I hope you all have a great one!

Struggling

In a world where people are losing their jobs by the hundreds, I am very blessed to have my job...this I know. I lose sleep over the fact that Hubster or I may be laid off tomorrow and the thought just makes me feel sick.

My heart breaks for all of those who are struggling right now...those who have just been given the news and those who are sitting on pins and needles waiting for the news. Those who have been out of work for a short time and those who have been out for a long time.

If you are one of those people, please know that I am praying for you. I pray that you will find work quickly and that your struggle is a short one. I truly believe that when God closes a door, He will always open a window. I hope your window is open wide...and SOON!

You are now entering the "Twilight Zone"...

Picture a time, a place....ok whatever...

Last night at 2:00, Hubster woke me up and asked me if I had just taken a shower. Duh. It's 2:00 am...no I did NOT just take a shower. He says he smells soap and that it smelled like someone had just taken a shower in our ensuite. I tell him he is crazy and that he must be dreaming and roll over.

Hubster insists on investigating. He goes into our washroom and says, "Dawn...someone just took a shower...come and see!"

I stumbled out of bed and he showed me that the floor was wet and the shower had fresh drips on the door. The bathroom was a bit steamy too. WTF?

We go into the hallway and the linen closet door is open. Hubster says, "Do you think Boy Oneder took a shower?!" I said, "Of course not...it's the middle of the night!"

He went down the hall to Boy Oneder's room and found him sound asleep, with soaking wet hair. Hubster woke him up and asked him if he had just taken a shower. Boy Oneder replied sleepily that he thought it was later and yes, had taken a shower. Hubster said he was half asleep when he answered.

Now, Boy Oneder has been a sleep walker for quite some time. We put a bolt on the front door, way up high, just so that if he happened to decide to go for a walk in the middle of the night, he couldn't reach the bolt.

This morning, I asked Boy Oneder about the shower. He says the first thing he remembers is stepping into the shower. He said he had a shower, thinking it was morning, but can only remember bits and pieces of the actual shower. The next thing he remembers, he was back in bed, looking at his clock, thinking it was weird that it was only 1:52 am. He thought it was morning already. He remembers nothing else. He doesn't remember Hubster waking him up.

Although it's kinda funny, I must admit that it worries me that he can get up and do something like have a shower, but not remember it fully. It scares me that he could do something bad and not remember doing it!

Anyone else have a sleepwalker in their house?

Wow.

It's 8:34 pm and my two oldest boys are out for the count. Boy Oneder went to bed at 8:00 with a migraine and Middleman was told that he could read until 8:30, but when I checked on him at 8:08, he was out cold...he didn't even have the energy to brush his teeth! I HEART HOCKEY CAMP!

I feel so bad for Boy Oneder...he gets migraines when he is overtired and believe me, I know migraines. They are wicked. Hopefully, the Advil kicked in before he fell asleep, bless his heart.

Middleman had to be boosted into his bed because his legs ache so badly...LOL! This camp is really hard work! They are loving every moment of it and are learning SO much. I snuck in this afternoon for literally two minutes on my way home from a client's office and I saw Boy Oneder on the ice. He was training with another member of the Toronto Marlies and you could just tell he loved every second. I am SO glad Mom did this for them.

If they were not at camp, they would be home, fighting, watching TV and driving both MIL and I crazy. This camp, although it is knocking them out, is phenomenal. What a concept! Check it out for yourself: www.torontoprohockeyschool.com

Threepeat has been spending alot of time outside in the fantastic weather for the last three days...the neighbs are out in full force, and we spend the evenings out front, chit chatting and watching the kids play. Have I mentioned that I have the best neighbours in the world? Yeah, I think I have. Sebastian and Francesco, Mary and Jack's twins are 16 months old and are hilarious. They are SO alike and I mix them up all the time. For Mary's sanity, they spend most of their evenings strapped in their wagon. They are very busy boys and to keep up with them is a nightmare. They are so good and quite content to just sit in the wagon and watch the world go by. All the other kids (9 of them) enjoyed a game of hockey on our driveway and Maria played goalie...what a hoot. Again, I say...great neighbours.

Now, I will turn to my trusty book, "Eclipse". I have to catch up with Mary...she just finished the last book of the Twilight series. She's hooked too...clearly.

NHL Hockey Camp

Thanks to Grandma, my boys are at the camp of a lifetime this week. Grandma paid for them both to attend the NHL Professional Hockey Camp at a local arena. They will be taught by Darryl Sittler and several other NHL/Junior A Hockey players.

They have three hours a day on the ice and the rest of the time is dry land training on things like platys, stretches, stick handling, etc. This is truly the chance of a lifetime. They were SO excited this morning...I can't wait to hear how much they learned and how much fun they had!!

I'll keep you posted.

The Red Violin

Last night, Franca, Eddie, Marylinda, Jack, Lino, Tina, Maria, Anthony, Hubster and I went out for the first time as couples...sans kids. WHAT A BLAST!

Marylinda chose the venue...The Red Violin, an authentic Brazilian restaurant on the Danforth. WHAT an AMAZING choice!

Our reservations were for 7:00 and we arrived right on time. We had a drink while we waited for the others to arrive and then the feast began! We started with an all you can eat salad/sushi/appetizer bar which was kept refreshed all night long. Hubster and the other boys drooled over the mussels and shrimp, while I stuck to sushi and various salads. When we were ready, the waitress brought us each a card with a red side and a green side. Green meant "bring on the food!" and red meant "ok, I've had enough!" We were served side dishes of grilled veggies, sauteed mushrooms, fried plantains (OMG MMMM!), rice, black beans and bacon and flava flour. Then came the meat. Oh.my.GOSH, the meat. Several men brought skewers of everything from chicken to turkey and bacon to steak, beef, veal, ribs, lamb chops, sausages, more chicken, more beef, more steak and it just kept coming! You were to use your tongs to take the slice of meat from the skewers and each one was better than the last. I am SUCH a meat lover, but le me tell you, I certainly had my fill of meat last night. Absolutely delicious! For dessert, they served hot pineapple coated in cinnamon (OMG was it good!)

There were Brazilian dancers and acrobat/martial arts specialists doing the most amazing things with their bodies! We were all invited to dance with them and let me tell you, I have not had such a good time in a LONG time!! The drinks were flowing and the food was hard to keep up with!

When it was all over, each couple owed $220.00...I know, that's a HECK of alot of money, but it was worth every single penny. I don't know what was better...the food, the company or the entertainment. Hubster and I NEVER go out on dates, so $220.00 was a bargain if you average it out over the course of our marriage. I would pay it again in a heartbeat for the quality of food, service and entertainment!

GREAT, GREAT fun and food! Visit The Red Violin...you will NOT be disappointed!

GORGEOUS weekend!

What a GREAT weekend we had...busy, as usual, but we made some time to be outside today in the beautiful sunshine and all is well in the world!

Threepeat went up and down the slide a bazillion times and loved it more and more as he did it! It was SO cute.

We played road hockey and just had a family blast!

Last night, Hubster and I went out with the four other neighbour couples to The Red Violin, a Brazilian restaurant that was TO DIE FOR! I will give a full run down either tonight, once Threepeat is out for the night or tomorrow morning.

I hope you all had as great a weekend as I had!!

Disappointed

I finally have an opportunity to go away by myself...no kids, no hubby. Just me and the girls. I was SO excited about it...but it ain't gonna happen.

My friends either have the time, but not the money or have the money, but not the time. For once in my life, I have a little of both, but won't be able to take advantage of it. That makes me so sad. :o(

I'm not upset with my friends...I know if the time and money were there, that they would love to come, but I am disappointed in the timing and the lost opportunity.

Sigh.

How lame would it be for me to spend a weekend alone in a local hotel? Would you think I was a loser if I did it? This is coming from me, who would never sit in a restaurant or go to a movie alone...I MUST be desperate for time away.

Bedside Blessings

Recently, I made a trip to Oakville to the Family Christian Bookstore to pick up three books that caught my eye on their website.

One of these books is called "Bedside Blessings" by Charles R. Swindoll. It is a collection of inspirational thoughts, one for each day of the year. I highly recommend this book. It has been so, for lack of a better word, INSPIRATIONAL, to me. The pages seem to be so appropriate for me on the right date. Amazing.

Another thing that amazed me was the horoscope on my igoogle today...again, amazing. SO appropriate and accurate. Only the person that I have in mind will "get" this:

Again, I say, amazing.

Wednesday Why's

Why is it that the windiest days are always garbage days? Today is garbage day and there is stuff ALL over the street because of the strong winds.

Why is it that all of said garbage ends up on OUR lawn? Ugh.

Why do my kids have to go to the lamest school in the province? We saw Kathy and Bruno's daughters in a play that their school put on last night and it was PHENOMENAL! Such a fantastic production. It was "Grease" and Katrina was Frenchie. Such an amazing play. Last year they did "Wizard of Oz" and it was just as good. Our school? No play. No lavish production. Nothing.

Why doesn't Tim Hortons get a better lid supplier? They never open properly and I end up having to cut the tab off most of the time. And while we are on the topic of Tim Hortons, I ask for the 100th time, WHY is it so difficult for a human being to follow instructions? I asked for the same coffee I request every single morning...a large, one cream, two sugar. One cream means that the coffee is still quite strong and the two sugars make it taste just right. This morning, my coffee looks like a triple cream and there is definitely only one sugar in that sucker. Damn I hate that.

Why can't my house stay clutter free for one day? ONE.DAY. I clean up one room and there is a mess waiting in the other room. The kicker? Most of the time, the clutter is mine. Damn.

Why haven't I won the lottery yet? I'm not getting any younger and could really use a little puff in the pocketbook. Come on...I only want a million or two.

OMG..

Yes, anonymous, I said it again...dry up.

Can you say, "BACK TO REALITY"?

Work was CRAZY today and will continue to BE crazy all MONTH. Yes folks, I am going to go MENTAL in March. I guess I should be grateful I have a job, and I am, believe me, but this is CRAZY busy.

I had a client appointment that I put off until Wednesday because of my flu-like symptoms this afternoon. Although I am feeling a bit better tonight, I am FAR from 100%, so a day at home, catching up on 143 emails...yes, I said 143 emails...Ooops...there's 144...since I left on Friday. I *am* an important gal, aren't I?

I will be writing again tonight I think, once the kids go to bed...this daylight savings thing is a killer. Hmmm...what else can I bore you with? More later gaters.

The flu strikes again...I think

Half an hour ago, I was minding my own business, working like a dog to catch up after my holiday and WHAMMO! Like a mack truck, I was hit with terrible stomach ache...a burning sensation, yet like a rock sitting in the pit of my belly. Severe yuck. So far, I have avoided the porcelain god, but me thinks it's only a matter of time.

I guess it was inevitable. I am run down from dealing with super-sickies and the airplane was FULL of coughing, snorting, green looking people. Gotta love that recirculated airplane air. Sigh. I'll keep you posted on that one.

One funny mention for today...MIL has to go for her annual mammogram and some routine tests tomorrow. Wait, that's not the funny part. Her instructions say that she is to eat "lightly" tonight. Her idea of light? She's going to have white pasta instead of with tomato sauce. Who knew tomato sauce packed such a punch?! LOL!

We're home

Damn I hate the Canadian winters. My tan will soon fade and the stress that ate me up before we left will soon return.

Our flight landed at 1:40 am this morning. By the time we got through customs and picked up the car, yada, yada, yada, we didn't get into bed until 4:20. I was up at 8:00 because I have to work. We kept the boys home from school because it was MUCH too late to have them sleep for 4 hours and then function at school. Ahhh...school days. Threepeat slept from 8:00 right through the flight...WOOHOO!

Tonight will be a VERY early night for me. I have a VERY VERY busy day and week ahead, so I will be a very tired girl if I don't stay on top of my sleep.

What started out as a vacation nightmare ended up so sweet. We had a such a nice time for the last few days...I only wish it could have been longer.

Home tonight

Our flight leaves at 11:00 tonight. I SO don't want to come home.

The weather has been perfect and now that we are all healthy, it seems to have flown by much too quickly. Today, the high is expected to be 82 degrees and there is not a cloud in the sky. I want to live in Florida.

Say a little prayer for us for a safe trip home will ya? You all know how much I hate flying. Thanks.

Let the fun begin

Threepeat is almost back to normal. He’s eating much less than usual, but he’s eating...that’s all I care about at this point.

We went to Universal Studios Islands of Adventure for the day and everyone had a blast. The weather is still cool, but it was perfect “park weather”. Boy Oneder rode the Hulk and then BEGGED me to go on with him for his second ride, so I caved...and LOVED it! What a ride! Threepeat rode with me on “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” while Boy Oneder and Middleman rode in another fish. Threepeat wasn’t sure about the whole concept at first. When the song sang, “Up! Up! Up!” you are supposed to move the lever up so the fish car thingy goes up. Well...Threepeat changed the song and each time I raised us up, he yelled, “Down! Down! Down!” It was too funny. Then we all rode on the Cat in the Hat’s ride (MIL included). Threepeat liked that one better. I guess he’s like his Daddy...afraid of heights.

Threepeat had a good nap today while Boy Oneder and Middleman rode “Duelling Dragons”...a freaky looking roller coaster duo that makes you think that the two trains will collide. Very cool concept.

I caught the sun a bit today. Because it was cool, I didn’t feel the burn...just my forehead though and just pink...not fried like I usually get.

We got the kids “Thing” t-shirts which I wanted last year, but never got around to buying. I got a great shot of them wearing their new tees:

We went to the Olive Garden for dinner and Threepeat ate almost a whole bowl of penne and then some of Hubster’s spaghetti (he DOES love his pasta) and created havoc by running around like a mad boy. I swear the other two were never as rambunctious as him. Middleman had mac and cheese, Boy Oneder had a pizza, MIL and Hubster had spaghetti and meatballs and I had grilled salmon. I really don’t see what Hubster loves about Olive Garden so much. The food sucks. Blah.

Threepeat had a big poop when we got home (first one of the day) and it has a little more consistency, so that’s looking good. Again, no more vomitting...knock on wood.
When we got home, it was 54 degrees outside...Boy Oneder announced that he was going swimming. He is mental. He and Middleman get their trunks on and head outside. I can hear Middleman protesting all the way, saying it’s too cold and Boy Oneder trying his best to talk him into swimming. Middleman, being the smart one, tells Boy Oneder to get in first. When he sees that Boy Oneder is shivering and getting in very slowly, Middleman dips his toe in for a test and announces, “MOM! LET ME IN THE DOOR! BOY ONEDER IS CRAZY!” (Our back door to the pool has an alarm which requires that you push a button every time you open the door to protect kids from wandering out when no one is looking and Middleman can’t reach it – LOL) Within two minutes, Boy Oneder comes in and states shyly, “OK...so it’s not as warm as I thought it would be.” LOL!! Too funny.

The sun and fresh air totally knocked Threepeat out. He fell asleep at 8:00. It’s now 10:02 and I am going to join him in slumberland! That’s it for today...a great, HEALTHY day!!

Another scare...

Tonight, at around 7:30, Threepeat threw up...alot. The panic that I feel is indescribable. Here we go again. We had SUCH a good day and now, all our hard work of sips and small bites is lost. We are back to the drawing board.

Hubster and MIL took the kids to 7/11 for a Coke Slushie. I am hoping that the slushie turns out to be a real lure and that he drinks some. While they are gone, my mind is racing with what ifs. I have peace of mind that the hospital is five minutes away, but terrifying fear that we will spend another whole day at the hospital. My poor baby.

He begged me for a bottle at bedtime, so I gave him a couple of ounces of Enfagrow. Let’s hope he keeps it down. He also keeps looking at me with puppy dog eyes, saying “Home? Home?” My heart is aching.

Better day

We took the kids to a Go-Kart Funpark today and they had a blast. Middleman is “this” much away from being tall enough for riding alone, but alas, he had to ride with Hubster. He had such fun anyway. Boy Oneder rode alone and even got to ride on the “slick” track. Good times.

Threepeat had his first ride on a carnival ride...a jeep.

At first, he kept saying, “Done? Done?” with his deer in the headlight look, but after a few minutes, he loved every second! He had a couple of Biter Biscuits at the park and then slept on the way home. He slept for over an hour and when he woke up, refused my rice with tomato sauce concoction, and began his routine of begging for penne. He won. He ate a plate of penne in record time and smiled the whole time. Bless his heart. I hope I won’t regret that later. Sigh.

The weather is really cool and will be again tomorrow. No more rain in the forecast though, so I think Busch Gardens is in order for tomorrow. We’ll see. I am just glad to see Threepeat’s diapers wet and his smile back. Thank you Jesus.
That’s all for now. I have to get back to getting my ass kicked in pool...by Middleman. Yes...my nine year old pool shark.

Around the bend

Last night, at about 10:30, Threepeat threw up. I think it is not so much related to his gastro-issues, but more from the cough/cold he has picked up. He coughed pretty hard for a while and then started gagging. Luckily, we had a towel on the bed and caught it all. At 1:00, he had a few ounces of formula and slept through until 6:00 when he had another few ounces. He ate Rice Krispies for breakfast with some apple juice and had a nice wet diaper...to which he added a full load of diarreah. Sigh. He’s having applesauce and water right now and seems happy, so I think once again, that we are on the mend.

Today is beautiful and sunny, but quite cold at 64 degrees. We are trying to figure out what to do, but it’s looking like an amusement park kind of day.

Is it over?

Threepeat woke up this morning with a dry diaper. BONE DRY. Of course, panic began to set in again as Hubster and I pondered what to do. Take him back to the hospital for more IV and another stressful day of hurry up and wait, or try to rehydrate him here? We decided that if he doesn’t vomit or have diarreah, we will stay here and do our best.

It’s 1:27 pm and he has had two wet diapers today. That’s terrific. Knock on wood, he has turned the corner. He had a couple of ounces of Enfagrow at 6:00 am, ate rice krispies with a little bit of milk for breakfast at around 7:30, had two mini pitas and a slice of bread for lunch and has eaten ice chips and popsicles and some Gatorade...not alot, but hopefully, enough. So far, no vomiting and no diarreah...fingers crossed.

This has been the most stressful three days of my life. I still have not eaten more than a piece of bread and a bottle of water. I just can’t eat.
Please, please, PLEASE let us be over the hump. PLEASE???

Fingers, toes, eyes, arms, legs and boobs crossed...March 1, 2009
It’s 7:25 pm and Threepeat is sound asleep after a day of no vomitting and no diarreah...KNOCK ON WOOD! He slept for only half an hour this morning and half an hour this afternoon, so by 7:00, he was wiped out. We even ventured out to Downtown Disney for an hour and he ate some of Boy Oneder’s ice cream cone...I was in the car, wiped out trying to nap, so I was not there to reprimand Hubster for such carelessness!

I made him chicken noodle soup for dinner, but when he saw MIL, Hubster and the boys eating penne alla vodka, he was going to have no part of any chicken noodle soup! He begged and begged, “Pasta...pasta...pasta!” until we finally gave in. I took some of Hubster’s penne and washed it off so it was almost sauceless...is that a word?...and he gobbled down about 10 pieces of pasta, bless his heart. He sipped on some water and was a happy camper after his beloved pasta was gone.

I gave him a bath at 6:45 and gave him a bottle and he snuggled with Nanna until he was asleep (in like five minutes). He’s now in bed tucked in and sleeping soundly (KNOCK ON WOOD!)

We have passed 24 hours with no expulsion of bodily fluids and I am praying with every ounce of me that we have turned the corner on this horrible nightmare. I have had my share for now thank you very much.
