What a nightmare...

We left the house at 3:10 am to get to the airport by 3:30 for our 6:20 flight. Hubster had spent the night vomitting , bring the third victim of this vicious stomach bug our family has been battling. Luckily, Threepeat was no longer vomitting and had only had diarreah once in 24 hours, Middleman said that although his tummy really hurt, he could make it, so we made the decision to go. I am sure that halfway through the flight, Hubster was regretting his forceful decision, because he looked like death. He was white as a sheet, sweating and holding onto his barf bag for dear life...he was the next victim of this stomach bug.

Threepeat was a crankpot for the entire flight...crying and whining the whole way. I was livid with Hubster, but also felt so sorry for him...he did really look dreadful. The blessedly short flight (2 hours, 20 minutes) seemed to last for an eternity. Just before we landed, Threepeat pooped. I took him to the huge , clean, spacious hideously germ-filled hole in the wall of a washroom to change him and found not only diarreah, but brown urine. Like penny-coloured. I immediately panicked, thinking, “OMG...he’s dehydrated!” Dehydration has been my biggest fear since becoming a mother. When I got back to my seat, I told Hubster that we were heading straight for the clinic when we arrived at our house. He thought I was being ridiculous because Threepeat was SO much better. we thought.

We got to the house and I looked at his diaper and it was like brown paste, but in the front, not the back of his diaper, so I knew it was not poop. I immediately headed over to the hospital, which is literally a 5 minute drive away. MIL came with me because Hubster was almost comatose from the flu. Middleman was exhausted and slept all afternoon and Boy Oneder, bless his heart, entertained himself while the sickies slept.

I figure it was about 10:45 am when we arrived at Emergency. We waited for over an hour to be seen by anyone other than the initial triage nurse. Long story short, they confirmed that he was a little dehydrated, but couldn’t explain the brown “paste” for lack of a better description, in his diaper. He was still crying big tears and was very active, so at that point, his dehydration wasn’t critical. The tests that my poor angel had to endure were unbelievable. X-Rays of his abdomen, x-rays of his chest, blood work, insertion of an IV and, worst of all, a catheter to obtain a urine sample. To see my baby screaming and suffering through it all was absolutely unbearable. At around 5:00, the doctor told us that he was now severely dehydrated (sure...he cried out whatever water he had left in him) and ordered fluids through his IV. He also told me that...get this and you mothers out there imagine my of the x-rays shows what may be a tear in the lining of his lung as well as a blockage in his intestine. I nearly shit myself. He wanted to do a CT scan to confirm and that Threepeat may need surgery to repair the damage.

Clearly, this doctor has no idea what a nervous wreck I am when it comes to my kids. He was just doing his job, but he scared me to death.

I left Threepeat with MIL so that I could call Hubster. I lost it and told him he had to come to the hospital to relieve us. I sobbed into the phone. He arrived in five minutes and stayed with Threepeat while I drove MIL home. While I was gone, Threepeat had another x-ray instead of a ct scan because the radiologist suspected that the problem with the original x-ray was Threepeat moving during the picture and not a tear or blockage. At 6:00, they confirmed that the x-ray was fine. No tear or blockage. Praise the Lord.

We were to wait for our paperwork and then were free to leave. BUT...we had to wait for the nurse to remove his IV. Our lovely nurse that had been with us all day had left and we had to wait for the slowest, rudest, LAZIEST nurse on earth to come in to see us. I told him at least three times that Threepeat was beside himself, crying, exhausted and probably hungry...he ate NOTHING all day. The nurse kept promising ” two minutes, two minutes” but clearly he was on some other time clock because he didn’t come in until 9:15. THREE HOURS LATER. Threepeat was inconsolable. I was ready to drop and Hubster was running a high fever. All this time, Boy Oneder and Middleman were at the house, with very little food (I ran into the grocery store while MIL stayed with Threepeat because there was NOTHING in the house, not even bottles of water.

We got home at 9:15 and Threepeat ate some chicken noodle soup and sipped on water. He then had some applesauce and some more juice. He went to sleep at 10:00 and slept through until 5:00 when he started begging for his bottle (of milk). Diarreah loves milk and so I tried to give him juice. He FREAKED when he tasted it and cried, “Mook, mook!” until I caved and gave him a bottle of Enfagrow, praying he’d just sip it and hold it like he usually does. No dice. That kid started gulping it back. I woke Hubster up and told him to pour out all of the milk except for an ounce or two and that pissed Threepeat off, but he got over it pretty quick.

He had a quarter of a bagel for breakfast and has sipped on a bottle of water throughout the day. He had a bowl of fishies and some rice krispies with a teensy bit of milk. For lunch, he had a few spoonfuls of chicken noodle soup and two spoons of applesauce. So, I think, knock on wood, he’s on the mend.

We had to go back to the hospital this morning for a re-assessment. We arrived and they told us it would be at least two hours. Another day ruined for Boy Oneder and Middleman....poor kids. By the Grace of God, our nurse from the day before saw us and sneaked us in for a quick assessment. After the doctor asked us a few questions and examined Threepeat, we were free to go (all in less than 45 minutes). He had a popsicle while we waited and the doctor told us to keep him on the BRAT diet for a couple of days. He has had two poops small one this morning and a bigger one at lunch time, but instead of being complete water, it’s a bit more pasty. I pray that means that things are getting better in his little tummy.
I have never been more afraid, stressed or anguished in all my life. I haven’t eaten nor slept in three days and I am a wreck. His diapers are still pretty dry today (except for his first one this morning which was nice and wet), so until that returns to normal, I won’t rest. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. I realize now how lucky I really am. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be the parent of a child with cancer or something like that. Trying to keep Threepeat comforted, quiet and entertained for close to twelve hours was hell. My heart goes out to families who deal with much worse.

I am praying that the rest of our vacation just gets better and better and better.

Sicky update

Threepeat ate half a bun today. Praise the Lord, he is on the mend.

Middleman has slept pretty much all day, between bouts of diarreah and vomitting. He ate half a banana this morning and is sipping Gatorade and gingerale.

I still have tummy trouble, but that may be partly due to the stress of this whole thing...not to mention the terror of flying.

MIL has no cancellation insurance, so we are going to tough it out. I am hoping that Middleman has just a 24 hour bug and by flight time tomorrow, he will feel better.

So, wish us luck, will ya? Oh and send some get well soon vibes to Threepeat, Middleman and I and stay well vibes to Hubster, Boy Oneder and MIL!! Thanks.

Fun times

Threepeat is no different this morning than he was yesterday. He threw up once in the night and had diarreah so bad that the bed was soaked. He's still not eating.

To add insult in injury, Middleman woke up at 2:00 and proceeded to vomit all over his bed. His vomitting and diarreah continued through the night, as he sat onthe toilet and puked into a garbage can. He is white as a ghost this morning and is crying with tummy pain.

I, too, have fallen victim and can't stay out of the washroom. No vomitting yet, but the other end is, for lack of a better term, very busy. I knew it was inevitable...caring for a flu-stricken toddler and cleaning up his bodily fluids can't be conducive to good health.

One thing I haven't mentioned up to this point is that we are booked on a flight to Florida at 6:00 am tomorrow morning. I hadn't mentioned it because Mom reads my blog and the trip was going to be a surprise. She is heading down to Florida today to stay with friends and we were going to show up on their doorstep to surprise her at some point during our 9 days there. I told her about the trip this morning because I wanted her advice and she agreed with me that Threepeat and Middleman should not be on a plane when they are this sick. Unfortunately, Hubster does not agree. He wants to get down there and then "the kids will feel better in the good weather".

I have made the executive decision to cancel my flight and that of Threepeat, Middleman and MIL and try to get a flight out on Sunday instead. I am praying that by then, they will both be a little better and that the plane ride won't kill them both.

MIL has graciously agreed to stay with me so that each of the boys has someone to tend their needs. Hubster and Boy Oneder will head down, get settled and hopefully, we will join them Sunday. I am just waiting to hear back from the travel agent.

Worry, worry, worry

Threepeat is sick. I mean REALLY sick. Sicker than he's ever been and sicker than I ever remember the other boys ever being.

The doctor believes it's rotovirus...yeah, you know, the one I declined to give him the vaccination for (DAMMIT!) as well as two "very, very red ears which are borderline infected". She prescribed an antibotic and said to keep him hydrated. Yeah..good times when he won't eat ANYTHING and getting him to take any kind of fluid is like pulling teeth.

I do not handle my babies' sicknesses well. Now that Boy Onder and Middleman are older, I can handle it...after all, you can reason with them and explain things and they can actually tell you what hurts. When they were little like Threepeat, I would panic, watching every breath all night long, sick to my stomach with worry. Threepeat's situation is no different. I ate a bagel this morning and two crackers just now. The only reason I ate the crackers was because I had to take my anitibiotic for my sinus infection. I feel no hunger at all...just panic, anxiety and worry. It's awful. I didn't sleep a wink last night. I never fell asleep...not once. Tonight will be no different.

I become a different person when he is sick...I can no longer think clearly, nor act rationally. I go into "What if" mode and ALWAYS think worst case scenario. Even though the worst case scenario never happened with my other two, I can't get my brain to understand that babies get sick. He is otherwise a healthy, HUGE (35 lbs) boy with lots of weight to spare for these horrible occasions. My crazy side just keeps picturing him in a hospital bed.

This "affliction" is the one thing I would pay ANYTHING to change. I wish I could just deal with my child's illness like every other mother...with NORMAL worry. I can't even adequately explain the horrible feeling I have and WILL have until he is better.

Any other nutcases like me out there?

Please say a little prayer

Threepeat is really sick. Vomitting, diarreah and now fever. He hasn't eaten in two days and it's been extremely difficult to get him to drink anything.

I am taking him to the doctor this afternoon as I am worried about dehydration.

Please keep him in your thoughts. He's a really sick little man.

Shocked and stunned and deeply saddened

I just found out that an old friend of mine, Calli, has passed away. She was 41.

We got back in touch through Facebook about a year ago, chatted on the phone and through private messages and once we caught up, we kind of slipped back into our own lives, agreeing that some day, we'd meet for coffee and *really* catch up. We never did get around to that coffee. :o(

I got a phone call from a colleague today who also knew her, to give me the news. He said she died two days ago of a heart attack. He said she had terminal cancer and the doctors didn't expect her to live to the summer, but that the heart attack was a surpise. I just can't believe she's gone.

41 years old...makes me feel sick. She was married, but never had children...she told me that she had accepted that and was happy with her life. My heart is breaking for her husband, her parents and her younger brother. If you pray, please keep them in your thoughts today.

I will be attending the wake tomorrow night with Hubster.

Rest in peace Calli. Until we meet again...

Our 2008/2009 hockey season has come to an end.

The chocolate bars, Gatorade and hiphop music couldn't do the magic and the kids lost 6-1. They played their hearts out and we are SO proud of how much they have accomplished this's not as much about winning as it is about learning, growing and developing friendships along the way.

Way to go LGS! We are EXTREMELY proud of you!!!

Happy Sunday!

The sun is shining, my heart is full of love and life is good!

We are about to leave for Boy Oneder's hockey game, and I am SO excited! We bought yellow Gatorade (the team jerseys are yellow) and Mars bars for all the kids...all through my ringette years, my Dad was my coach. He always used to buy our ringette team Coke and chocolate before the game because he swore it gave us more energy...I told Hubster about it and we are using Gatorade instead of Coke, but we are hoping for the same results my ringette team used to see! This game is do or die for the kids. If they lose, the season is over...if they win, they play for one more weeekend. They have worked so hard and come so far that my entire being is praying for a win tonight. I even burned a CD with lots of upbeat tunes to get the kids motivated in the dressing room with THIS being the song they will leave the dressing room to. I am praying that THIS will be the song they leave the ice with! ;o) OMG...the excitement is HUGE!

Our good friends, Kathy and Bruno and their girlies will be at the game to cheer/have a heart attack with us, so it should be lots of fun!

I'll update when we get home. Keep your fingers crossed for us!!!!! Pin It

Oh the good old hockey game!

Middleman lost another game this morning, but he has one game tomorrow, which is the decider on whether he will go through to the quarter finals.

Boy Oneder's team played AMAZINGLY, however, the referees were horribly one-sided, calling ridiculous penalties on us, while ignoring blatent penalties for the other team and calling off one of our beautiful goals, but allowing an illegal goal for the other was VERY frustrating. In the end, the teams tied and any hopes of getting to the quarter-finals that begin tomorrow was reliant on a team that played at 6:00 losing...and lose they did!! Boy Oneder's team plays at 5:15 tomorrow night in the first game of the quarter-finals. SO exciting!

We had dinner at our good friends, Pat and Louie's house tonight. What a great couple they are and SUCH good cooks. They made tortellini in a cream sauce and veal parmesan...mmmmmm! Unfortunately, Threepeat slept for a very short time today and much earlier than usual, so he was exhausted by was I. We got home at 9:20 and he was out by 9:23! LOL.

I met my new "sister" today. Lucy joined our family this morning. She is a Shichon (Shizu/Bichon cross) and is absolutely ADORABLE. I will post a photo tomorrow because she is coming over for a visit with Mom!

And so, tomorrow *may* be my last hockey mom weekend for this season. I sure hope not...I love hockey SO much. I hope we make it for one more weekend! It would be nice to see one of the kids (especially Boy Oneder) make it to the finals.

So, overall, a GREAT day. I am wiped out and am heading off to bed...right after I read chapter three of "Eclipse"...LOL! Pin It

Twilight review (may be some spoilers) promised, I am going to post my review of "Twilight".

Perhaps the movie isn't SO bad, because Hubster, who I dragged along, because I could NEVER go to a movie alone, quite enjoyed it. I think that the problem is that I read the book, let my imagination create the visuals for me, and then saw the movie, which was directed through someone else's eyes.

The makeup was TERRIBLE. The vampires are supposed to be very pale, but the caked on white makeup was almost clown-like. Bella, who didn't seem to have any whitening make up, was paler than all of the vampires.

Speaking of Bella, she couldn't act to save her life. There are several scenes where she is supposed to cry, and even though she strained and got all dramatic TRYING to cry, no tears were shed. She is beautiful, but TOO beautiful. She is FAR more beautiful than the other vampires, who are supposed to be stunningly beautiful. With the exception of Alice and maybe Carlisle, all of the other vampires were downright UGLY! Victoria, whose beauty astonished Bella in the book is, in my opinion, repulsive!

There is a scene where Edward shows Bella why he stays out of the sun. In the book, Stephenie Meyer, the author, describes him as absolutely brilliant. Glistening with prism colours and diamonds, etc. etc. In the movie, he has some sparkly crap all over him that makes him look like he is crawling with bugs. TOTALLY not what I had envisioned.

Many parts of the book were skimmed over. For instance, Mike Newton's massive crush on Bella was simply a few smiles and glances in the movie. Eric, in the movie, is CHINESE FOR THE LOVE OF PETE! Who would EVER have thought that he was Chinese, not to mention one of the most affeminate boys I have ever seen. Ugh.

Edward is SO not as beautiful in the movie as he is in the book. Throughout the movie, he is scowling and frowning, not really showing the love for Bella that he shows in the book.

I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

Don't waste your money. Re-read the book instead. Pin It

Twilight the Movie...

What a collosal disappointment. I will give you my full review tonight, but for now, suffice it to say that it was a horrible movie.

Feeling a bit better

My back is better...again, I sing the praises of a chiropractor...and my cold is getting better. I have a cough and the annoying "ahems", but definitely getting better.

I am about to begin Chapter 24, which is the final chapter before the Epilogue, of "
New Moon". Peeps, this book is 563 pages long. I started it twelve days ago!

Tonight, I will finish it up and move on to "Eclipse" either tonight or tomorrow. Next is "Breaking Dawn" and then I will begin Stephenie Meyer's new series, the first book of which is called, "The Host". I bought it last night, so that I am well-prepared.

Tomorrow, Hubster and I have taken a vacation day and will be taking the boys to the Car Show...snore. I guess it's my wifely duty to do the "guy" thing once in a while. I'm hoping it won't be as boring and painful as I think it will be.

How do you like my new blog layout? I got all the papers and elements from Here a Scrap, There a Scrap and put them all together myself in PSP. Like it? There are still a few little tweaks I want to do, like better spacing, but I like it overall. What do you think? Pin It

I am sick.

I was starting to think that I might have gotten through this winter without a cold, but alas, I am miserable with a sore chest/throat and runny nose today. Wah.

I have been taking "Cold FX" and praying it will not get any worse...let's hope I;m better by tomorrow.

Happy Family Day

What a day. Family Day is a new holiday here in Ontario. It started last year, so this is the second time that Ontarians have been blessed with a long weekend in February. I used the term blessed loosely today.

It began very nicely with Threepeat waking me at 7:30 with hugs and kisses and the sun shining through the curtains. Hubster took him downstairs and let me sleep in until is huge peeps. Boy Oneder and Middleman had spent the night at Grandma`s house, so there was peace and quiet. Hubster and I took Threepeat to the park for half an hour because the weather was just so beautiful!

At 1:00, we met Mom and the boys at Taco Bell, where they were enjoying a nice lunch. We got the two older boys in the car and it all went downhill from there. Boy Oneder was a pre-teen NIGHTMARE today. A miserable, angry, sad, angry, nasty, angry, horrible, angry, mean...did I mention angry? SOB. He was rude, obnoxious, disrespectful and just plain horrible ALL day. He spent alot of time in his room, and for the first time, was kicking things and banging things.

To be completely honest, Hubster and I were at a loss on how to deal with him. The toddler years are NOTHING compared to pre-teen anger. Sigh. Yes, I am referring to the sweet, respectful, compassionate first born. Gosh, I miss that boy. Hubster ended up taking Middleman and Boy Oneder out to a movie tonight so that I could have a breather. It's been a nightmare day.

Threepeat has no voice...he's all squeaky and hoarse. Poor baby. He has a coldish thingy going on that just won't quit and won't turn into anything. He actually had a fever earlier this week, which was really scary because I was worried about another febrile seizure, which, thank God, hasn't happened again. But he's not eating or sleeping like usual, so something's going on. I'm hoping he feels better soon...nothing worse than seeing your baby sick. He is sound asleep (yes, it's 8:00) and I am praying the sleep will make him better.

Well, I think I will read some more of "New Moon" which is ALMOST as addicting as "Twilight" was...I'm ticked at the storyline, but I read through as quick as I can, hoping that it will twist the way I want it to! ;o) Pin It

Happy Valentine's Day!

I got flowers today! Way to go Hubster! I also got a cute card. YAY him!

Today has been a LOOOOONG day. It started at 6:15 am, when my alarm advised that it was time to get up for Middleman's 7:15 am hockey game. The whole family came (MIL included) but alas, our cheering was clearly not enough and they lost 2-0. That's the first playoff points for Lowe's.

We got home at 8:45 and began working on our basement. It is a complete, cluttered disgrace. Any time something is in the way on the first or second floor, we have been carting it down to the basement...and it shows. We can hardly walk a path to Hubster's office, let alone FIND anything. I made a pile of garbage while Hubster and Boy Oneder filled up the van for a trip to the recycle plant. Once the van was stuffed, they left and I made a pile of stuff for Value Village. Threepeat's baby toys, 2 exersaucers, two old colour printers, tons of VHS movies. I was so glad that someone wlse would get good use of it. Hubster and Boy Oneder filled up the van and were off to Value Village, while I made another pile for the dump.

They came home from Value Village and advised that they only wanted the VHS tapes and the printers. ALL of the baby stuff was not acceptable due to recalls/hazards, etc. So, what did my husband do? Added the dump pile to the Value Village pile and dumped it ALL. Threepeat's infant car seat that was used for about 6 months...spotless. He dumped it. I am trying not to seethe as I type. Excuse me for a moment...

"He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today."

OK...I'm back. Sorry about that. Anyhoo...we were done around 11:30ish, so Hubster and Boy Oneder headed out for lunch at Harvey's while Middleman and Threepeat ate lunch with Nanna. I didn't have lunch because I had to shower and get over to my newest hero (yes read that right) the Chiropractor. I was already feeling like a million bucks today after yesterday's treatment, but like a heroin addict, once you've had it once, you are hooked and I looked forward to meeting with her again.

She did the ultrasound thingy again and a quick massage and then she adjusted me...and on my right side, it worked. She had me turn over, but, unforch, she was unable to adjust the left (problem) side. So, I have another appointment on Tuesday. Is it Tuesday yet?

When I got back, Hubster was sleeping (surprise, surprise) Excuse me..."He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today. He bought me flowers and a card today." and Boy Oneder was doing his Kumon. Middleman and Threepeat were watching TV. MIL was just going out. It was 1:30. I know, I know...I TOLD you it was a loooong day.

I then took Threepeat for a drive so that he would nap...he has been brutal with sleeping for the past few days (he has had a fever on and off for a couple of days and isn't eating too well, so something's up). He took forever to drop off and I took my time driving home. I called home and asked Middleman to come out to the car so that he could sit in the car with sleeping Threepeat while I popped into the grocery store. He agreed (bless his heart) and I grabbed the ingredients for homemade lasagna.

By the time I came out of the grocery store (not 8 minutes later) Threepeat was wide awake, playing air drums to the blasting electrodance music Middleman was playing. (rolls eyes) We headed home and by this time it was about 3:00. I threw the sauce together and let it simmer while I warmed the oven. I put the lasagna together and cooked it for 20 minutes. At 4:00, we had to leave for Boy Oneder's hockey game, so I just turned off the oven and left the lasagne to continue cooking as the oven cooled down.

Boy Oneder's game was at 5:15 and for the first period, they were winning 1-0. THAT was gonna last. When all was said and done, the score was 4-1...we lost...again. We headed home to what I would consider to be my best lasagna yet, with garlic bread and salad. MMMMM....

I headed back out to the grocery store to pick up some odds and ends (read as chips and milk) and am now lying in bed with my baby schmoopy who I THINK just fell asleep on my chest. It's 9:20. I told you it was a looooong day!!

If you read this far, God bless you! I am beyond exhausted, but I must read my chapter of New Moon, so tata for now! Pin It

A big "adjustment"

I mentioned earlier this week that I somehow hurt my back. The pain has been excrutiating at times and sitting has been torture. I sit all day for my job, so this is NOT a good situation.

I went for a massage yesterday and it did help a little, but I just feel like something needs to "crack". So, I went to my second most feared doctor, first being the dentist. I visited a Chiropractor today. Now, let me explain that cracking my knuckles is very painful. I'm not a good "cracker"...well not in the bone cracking sense anyway, so the thought of a person cracking my spine is a bit daunting to say the least.

I just got back from my appointment and I am now a chiropractic advocate. She wasn't able to adjust me very well because I am very "locked up", but she did do something that caused a cracking noise further up my spine and it didn't hurt at all...infact, it felt GOOD! I have to ice my lower back three times today for ten minutes each time and do a few stretches and then go back in tomorrow to see if she is able to crack the problem area. I'm actually looking forward to it!!

Now, if only my dentist would give me something to look forward to!

Picture time

The view from my bedroom window just now....rain, rain, rain...but I LOVE IT!!! I can actually see GRASS!!!! It's supposed to snow again tonight, so I will take in the greenish brownness of it all while I can.

Bunk Beds! Here are Threepeat and Middleman's new beds...well, right now, Boy Oneder and Middleman are using the bunks, but eventually, it will be Middleman and Threepeat. We love them, but they are SO hard to make up in the morning!!:

I don't know if this is a publicity stunt or not, but I have to say that I am amazed, touched and very surprised.

Absolutely amazing.

Feeling better this morning

I guess "blogging it out" helped. I feel much better this morning and am going back to my happy blogging self. Thanks for the comments and the peeps ROCK!

Today is a pretty hefty day workwise. I have one account that is quite complicated and I plan on dedicating today to that account. I have been procrastinating because I am dreading the work involved, but I am ready to face it today!

The weather, although gray and dreary, has been SO mild lately. Today, it's supposed to reach 10 degrees!! TEN DEGREES IN FEBRUARY! Woohoo...spring is on its way!!

Mom got the results of Nanny B's autopsy today...yes, over seven months after her death. The Coroner used some fancy medical terms, but in a nutshell, it was natural causes. She died from lung cancer. I am just glad that Mom can have peace now. She finally has some closure.

I have been stewing for a couple of days. I want to let it go, but I can't, so heeeeeeeeere I go....

In my mind, I am a Christian. I believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. I believe that Jesus died for our sins. I believe that if *I* believe in Jesus, I will go to Heaven.

I also believe that if you are Jewish, Hindu, Buddist, etc.etc.etc., and you live according to whatever "God" you believe in and that God is a good God, you will meet me in Heaven some day.

None of us is perfect. Everyone has faults. If you try to be a good person, according to what YOU have been taught, I believe that you will go to Heaven. I have to say that the "Christians" who are holier than thou and choose to judge, preach and condemn are sadly mistaken. Jesus accepted everyone...lepers, whores, murderers, sinners. He accepted.

What gives YOU the right to judge me for what YOU think is wrong? You don't even KNOW that I was referring to "God" in my OMG post. You judgemental, opinionated SOB. Who made YOU the perfect human to judge other people? Do you think that you are better than me? I think NOT. Think of YOUR sins. I know EXACTLY who you are and I know that you are FAR from perfect.

I cut ties with you. Now stop stalking me and leave me ALONE. Your Heaven is not the place that I want to be ANYWAY. I don't need your salvation TYVM.

*Disclaimer* My use of "OMG" is not meant to be non-Christian, as my dear "anonymous" friend chose to point out the other day. I am using OMG to say Oh My Gosh. Phew. Thank you Anonymous Crusader...Now, I will go to Heaven afterall (rolls eyes).

As I was saying...

I have never experienced pain like I have had for the last few days...not even labour compares. I was seriously nauseous from the agony that was eminating from my left lower back. Today, it's better, but by no stretch 100%. Advil, hot water bottles and rest have been my BFFs for three days.

In other news, I am on Chapter 4 of "New Moon" and I am very, very upset at the storyline. My heart broke last night as I read about Edward's family's decision and I am hoping that it won't be long before my heart is happy again. Poor Bella. Poor Edward.

The woman at Tim Horton's messed up my coffee AGAIN this morning. How difficult is it to make a coffee? I asked for a large, one cream, two sugar. I got home and found my coffee to be what looked like three-quarters cream and no sugar. Clearly, working at Tim Horton's does not require a degree of any kind. Sigh. There's nothing worse than expecting a nice, fresh cup of coffee, only to find you can't drink it because they messed it up. Ugh.

Mom is getting her puppykins soon. "Lucy" will be ready for pick up in a couple of weeks and I can't WAIT to meet her. Here is a photo of a Shi-Chon (or a Teddy Bear as they are sometimes called):

I mean SERIOUSLY adorable is this puppy??? Although this photo is not THE actual puppy Mom is getting, you can see that it is very, very cute! Now I want one!

One out of two ain't bad.

Middleman' game today was SO exciting. His team won 2-1, but the entire game was nail-biting action. After the game, we found out that it wasn't a playoff game was the last regular season game. Ah was a good game all the same.

I wish I could say the same for Boy Oneder's team. They lost miserably tonight...8-1. It was the most horrible game all year and, unfortunately, in this case, it WAS the first playoff game. Sigh. These poor kids (and poor Hubster, being the head coach) have endured a really rough season. Poor things.

Mom came over yesterday and took Boy Oneder and Middleman to see "Mall Cop", which the raved about. She stayed for dinner, and being the amazing daughter/mother/wife that I am, I made roast lamb which was, as usual, to die for. Mom bought me some lovely pink jammies, which are so comfy, yet so nice and girly. Thanks Mom!

On a bad note, I threw my back out. No idea how, but the pain on the left side of my tailbone is excrutiating. I can hardly walk, let alone bend or move normally. I am sitting with a hot water bottle on my back as I type this, hoping by some miracle, I will be better tomorrow. This is awful.

I have Threepeat sitting here beside me, watching "Barney" and I am hoping he will lose the sleep battle soon because "New Moon" is calling me. Have I mentioned what a great series the "Twilight" series is? LOL!

I have a really busy week at work, so that's it for today! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Pin It

New Moon

I finished "Twilight" last night and was a bit concerned about having a few days between finishing it and receiving the three other books in the series. Amazon said 2-5 business days, so I was hoping it would be on the 2 side...and it WAS!

They arrived today and I am already finished chapter one. It is just as good as "Twilight" and once again, it is obsessing me. This is ridiculous. I am so caught up in these books! I haven't read anything in a long time and I must admit, I am loving it.

I will keep you posted on Bella and Edward as I get through the pages.

Hockey playoffs begin this weekend...we are guaranteed two games and then, if they win those games, they move on. Otherwise, it's over for another season. I'm hoping the "Bad News Bears", aka Boy Oneder's team, kicks some butt and turns it all around. Middleman's team is pretty good, so they should make it through to the next round. Time will tell.

We bought bunk beds yesterday for Middleman and Threepeat...currently, Threepeat still sleeps with Hubster and I, which is just the way we like it, but eventually, he will move to the bottom bunk in Middleman's room. Boy Oneder's old bed was a horrible, old twin that was awful to sleep on, so we knew we had to get something quick. He's growing and I'd hate to think that the mattress would cause him back troubles, so we moved on the bunk beds now, even though Threepeat isn't ready to go on his own just yet. So, Boy Oneder now has our old bedroom set with a nice comfy queen mattress and Middleman is sleeping on the top bunk in his room. The bottom bunk is a double and Boy Oneder has decided that he wants to try it out for tonight, so we will see if he actually goes back into his room tomorrow night...that bottom bunk is MIGHTY comfortable!!! ;o)

I will try to take some pictures once I buy some batteries for the camera.

I am meeting Karen for brunch tomorrow. She is SUCH a lovely person and I haven't seen her since July, the first time we met for our girls' weekend in Niagara Falls. She has painted a portrait of the boys and I can't wait to see the final product. She is SO talented. I will share a photo here once I have batteries for the camera.

Sunday, my dearest and oldest friend, Joanne, and her husband Ben and sweet kids, Robbie, Tori and Liv are coming for lunch. I have know Joanne since we were six years old and I always have such a nice time with her. We laugh like no one's business and always say we'll see each other more often, but she lives so far away and with our kids' hockey, ringette and basketball schedules, it's difficult to get together alot. Well, what we lack in quantity, we certainly make up for in quality!

I think that's all for today..."New Moon" is beckoning! Pin It

OMG. What a FANTASTIC book. Honestly peeps, I cannot put this thing down! I ordered the rest of the series from yesterday becuse I don't want even a day to pass between my pages! I am starting Chapter 22 and the suspense is KILLING me!

I highly recommend this book. It is honestly the best book I have ever read. The storyline is fascinating and, for those of you who have read it, you will understand when I say that there are parts where I am ACHING for Bella and Edward to just GET ON WITH IT and get passionate! LOL! Swoon. I think I love Edward. I don't care if he's a blood-sucking vampire.

Fishy Suicide

Our litte beta fish that just would not die died.

I was about to clean his bowl last night and as I lifted him out in the net, he jumped out, into the sink and faster than I could react, down the drain. :o(

I could see him flipping around, but had no way to get him out, so I turned the water on full blast for 5 minutes to ensure that he was washed out into fishy Heaven. :o(

I feel SO guilty. I know he's just a dumb fish, but he was MY dumb fish. I hope he died quickly and didn't suffer during his roller coaster ride through our pipes.

RIP little guy. :o(

I am coming to you from my new laptop. My OWN laptop. Not to be shared with ANYONE. Woo-freaking-hoo! It's an Acer that I purchased from Costco tonight.

I got sick and tired of fighting for my internet time on my perfectly wonderful HP Latitude, which, for the record, has caused me NO problems whatsoever. Boy Oneder and Middleman have been monopolizing my beloved laptop for the last month or so. Whether it's homework or Facebook or Club Penguin...sigh.

So, I splurged and bought myself a new far, I love it.

Off to see if the webcam actually works on this baby. Pin It

Sunshine....on my shoulders makes me HAPPY...

Today, for the first time in a looooong time, there is a big yellow ball in the sky...I *THINK* it's called the sun, but it's been so long since I've seen it that I can't be sure.

I stood in the sun for five minutes this morning, basking in the warmth. Although the temperature was really low, the sun on my face was lovely and warm. We are truly like flowers...when the sun shines, humans are much happier beings. I know it can't last and I know that it's going to be a long time before we are able to spend much time outside without risking frostbite, but that little bit of sunshine this morning got my motor running a little faster than normal.

I can't wait for spring.

All by myself

Now THIS doesn't happen very often.

I chose to skip out on Middleman's hockey game today so that I could have some "me" time. Hubster, Boy Oneder, Threepeat and MIL went to this game. The house is now empty, except for me and my good pal, Rosie. It is dead quiet. I FREAKING LOVE IT!

I have so many things I'd like to do with my time and so many things that I SHOULD do with my time, but I am forcing myself to do nothing. That's right people...I am doing NOTHING. OK, I am blogging, but that's IT. I am going to lie on my bed and read a chapter of my newest favouritest book, "Twilight". Then I will shower and then I will be ready to face the family when they return at about 2:30.
